Economic Futures Placements

Support for Growth in Applied Economics in Scotland

Economic Futures aims to engage with undergraduate economics students, graduates and early career academics, across Scotland to provide an eco-system for applied economic analysis. The project offers a series of programmes including work placement opportunities in academia, public policy, charities and the private sector.

In June 2019, Economic Futures offered its first phase of work placements, unfortunately due to the pandemic, we could not offer placements in 2020.  We were back in 2021 and had an amazing 18 placements.  Competition for these was fierce, we received over 180 applications.

For Summer 2022, we are delighted to announce that this is our biggest year to date. From our partners (listed below) we have 20 placements available cutting across a variety of sectors.  See the list to the right for more information on these opportunities.
